Ending the year on a high note!

ChristmasThis is one of those all-talk posts, so I promise it will be short. It’s just a quick note to say that the last rehearsal of 2015 was a wonderful day, full of laughter and fun.

We spent the morning on Aladdin, which is always a good time!  We’re all so excited to bring this play to the stage!  We can’t wait to show it to you!

At lunch we had a last-minute mini-potluck, and a Pride & Prejudice trivia game.  Food is always a fun thing to share – Debbie’s famous taco dip, a cake, Jenna’s cookies, and more – all shared very happily, and remarkably quickly.

Our afternoon was divided into two rooms – with our Juniors on break, we used the smaller room for vocal work, while the big room was in use for run-throughs of Pride & Prejudice. This was our last day at the Herb Gray facility, and it was definitely a busy one.  Our genii got a lot of work in vocals, and everyone was getting work in Pride & Prejudice.  The cast may be on break, but they have a lot of work to do over the holidays to nail down some of the extensive dialogue, ready to all come back off book altogether!

A little icing on our cake – we received a sponsorship renewal today from OnFreight Logistics, who have signed on for a third year of sponsorship with RTC. It’s particularly good news, as we’re going to have some rent to pay in the new year, and OnFreight just covered it for us.  We’re so very grateful.

So now, it’s time for a Christmas break. Of course, we can’t really stand to be apart for three weeks, so we have a Pride & Prejudice movie marathon for the cast and staff in the middle of it all!

What’s up in the new year?  A new rehearsal space in January, our pancake fundraiser on January 16th, and things getting VERY INTENSE for Pride & Prejudice rehearsals!

In the meantime, from all of Riverfront to all of you, Merry Christmas!  Please be safe and healthy throughout the holidays, and enjoy as much time as possible with your loved ones!  RTCChristmas
