The Riverfrontiers Strike Again: Bowlathon 2016!

On Sunday, October 30, 2016, Riverfrontiers joined forces at Revs Bowling (Rose Bowl Lanes) on Dougall Ave for our annual Bowlathon. I’m not even sure how many years we’ve been doing it, because it was going the first year my family was involved, and I don’t think that was the first one!
This year, we had 42 bowlers – there were some kids who couldn’t make it, but we had a good crowd, for sure.  It’s always a costumed event, and one of our major fundraisers for the year.
We had prizes for most funds raised, best costume and funniest/cutest costume in both the Senior and Junior groups.  Everyone had a good time, most people actually threw the occasional bowling ball down a lane, some folks even enjoyed a few strikes, and the evening was, as usual, a rousing success.
We’re very pleased to announce that we just tipped the $3000 mark for the evening – really an excellent boost to our season’s expenses.  It’s so important for us to raise money for the season – costumes, theatre rentals, tech supplies for our special effects, and so on – running a theatre company isn’t a simple endeavour, but we keep making it happen, year after year, with the support and enthusiasm of our families, audiences, and community sponsors!  We’re so grateful!
Thank you so much to everyone who participated, or sponsored one of our bowlers!  We appreciate you!  And as always, a huge thanks to Revs for kindly hosting us every year!  We’re a rowdy and excitable bunch!
